I've a background that covers almost every level of organisational computing​,​ through development​,​ support​,​ consultancy and product management through to strategy​,​ leadership and board level. I've worked in many industries including finance​,​ oil & gas​,​ software​,​ telecoms​,​ media​,​ retail​,​ insurance​,​ healthcare​,​ pharma and services; there are a lot of commonalities across sectors as well as niche areas of specialised knowledge and process. Today I split my time between three types of engagement. The first one is as a Board Advisor or NED​,​ where I can provide governance and insight to a Board (or its members) on technical and scaling topics. The second is as fractional CTO where I can help you draw up and implement plans to take the next step in your company's evolution. The last is conducting Due Diligence at a funding boundary; in the last 5 years I've worked with PE and the boards of nearly 200 different companies going through a transaction to examine a company's technology for risk and opportunity and then advise on the next steps​,​ either pre- or post-transaction.
