Mark is a Co-founder​/​Investor​/​Advisor of a number of VC backed online marketplaces. Mark brings a unique perspective into the world of a double-sided marketplace with a particular focus on the supply chain. An Executive with 15+ years of online commercial operations​,​ Mark has developed an enviable marketplace and eCommerce reputation across global jurisdictions for driving strategic execution​,​ international expansion and growth. Mark was instrumental in helping Jane.com close its $40m Series A funding round from Tritium Partners​,​ as well as $3m Series A funding from Discovery Inc. for Casaza. Previously​,​ Mark served as SVP of Commercial Operations at Jane.com​,​ as well as interim Co-CEO. He led Jane to an accelerated growth delivering over $1bn in overall GMV. Mark was responsible for the Supply​,​ Merchandising and Customer Service functions in addition to being responsible for creating​,​ defining and executing the company's strategic objectives. Providing operational excellence​,​ Mark led his team at Jane.com to deliver a 25% YoY EBITDA increase whilst reducing operating expenses by 12%. Establishing and delivering on his strategic vision enabled conversion rates to increase by 42% and deliver a revenue increase of 7%. Mark has established himself as the authority regarding eCommerce marketplace growth​,​ particularly across international markets. Prior to joining Jane​,​ Mark held several leadership roles including a founding executive for HGTVs The Property Brothers and Director of Business Development (EMEA) for HomeAway​,​ now Expedia. During his time at HomeAway​,​ Mark was responsible for the first privately signed MOU from the Dubai Royal family​,​ adding $180M to the share price on announcement. In these roles​,​ Mark established business models​,​ launched new markets​,​ and led and managed business operations that included sales​,​ product and business development across three geographies. Mark has been a board member for a number of companies within the Travel​,​ Home Interior and Office SaaS space and is an inductee into the Silicon Slopes Hall of Fame. Mark currently resides in Vancouver​,​ BC​,​ speaks Spanish as his second language and completed his MBA at the University of Wales.
